Use less energy in your bathroom
Living green is cool. We all know this. Because people finally realized that this is the right lifestyle, more and more people decide to live like this every day. In essence, we should save water and electricity, because these are the two most important things. We usually believe that in the bathroom, we can save only water. This is just half of a story. We can save energy as well.
The best way to save the energy in our bathrooms is to reduce the need for the water coming into the bathroom. In order to move the water, from an aquifer to your home, cities use a lot of energy. For example, California uses 22% of the electricity for moving the water. This also means that if we use less water, we will save electricity as well. However, the situation is even more disturbing, if we know that 90% of the electricity is used for water-related actions. If you want to start with this, you will have to know how much of water you really use. Check water flow on your faucet and shower head.
Same as before, the best way to use less water is to use high-efficiency shower heads. Most shower heads have 2.5 gpm flow rate. This is a lot of water. But, if you use new, high-efficiency shower heads, you will use half of this. You won’t even notice the difference, until you receive your water bill. The same effect can be achieved with high-efficiency faucets. They are easy to install, but they also use half of the water as ordinary faucets. Also, always check for leaks.
